I like the composition and crop (well... I'm a sucker for squares ). The colors too seem to work very well, I love the use of complimentary colors like that, considering how it makes the red stand out so much. The little boy's pose is also great, you can see the movement in him.
I would have liked a bit more light on his face, perhaps more similar to his hand, though. Also, I can't decide if I like the fact that there is something printed on his shirt. It adds a different color, which I guess is good, making him the center of attention.
One thing that bothers me, though, is the lack of sharp focus, everything seems to sort of blend together.
Overall, great pic... it makes me want to go to that field
